Thank you for your interest in the Internet's most exciting tool for the New Homes Sales & Marketing profession. Please find answers to our Frequently asked Questions below. If there are any further questions, please contact us for more information.
Tell me about the NHKh Community.
The New Home Know-how community includes registration options for users and contributors and encourages comments and dialogue from all visitors. Contributors and commenters can be notified via email of updates to their content. Additionally, the community allows visitors to "mark favorites", enabling other users to see, and vote for, the most popular content. As membership grows quickly, the community will feature a discussion board, enabling all users to begin a conversation about the market, post a great sales story, or ask other visitors for help with a tough objection.
How do Sales & Marketing pros use the website?
Sales Managers will check the site regularly to keep up with industry trends and new ideas. When they've identified a need for a particular training topic on their next sales meeting, they'll be able to search for content on that topic. New Home Know-how will return a list of related content, allowing them to review it, print it, and contact the author for more if they need.
Marketing Managers will check the site to see the newest commentary about what's working and what is not. If they've recently been presented a new idea from a vendor, they'll search the New Home Know-how database to see if anyone else has had success or failure with that approach. This feature will be especially helpful with new interactive advertising options.
Salespeople, having had their third prospect of the week walk-out of their sales office with just a brochure will visit New Home Know-how and search for articles about creating urgency. Or, they'll read a thread in the discussion forum from another salesperson that experienced the exact same situation and what they did to improve before the next prospect walks in the door.
What are the submission material guidelines?
While new material is encouraged, keep in mind that the submissions and content need not be exclusive or brand new. Sales process and practice advice is timeless. If you're submitting content previously published elsewhere, please be sure that the content can be reused without permission, and please include the date of the original publication. Book excerpts are welcomed, and can be linked (free of charge) back to your purchase page, but please refrain from submitting content with little value to the reader, designed only to be a "commercial."
Can I submit video?
Yes. New Home Know-how can support video.
How do I become a contributor?
Fill out the form on the Contact Us page and tell us about you and what you have to say.
How do I become a Featured contributor?
Just ask. There's a minimum number of contributions to start, and a necessary committment of regular future submissions.
How much content can I submit?
There is no limit to the content you can submit. New Home Know-how will act as a database of sales knowledge and advice. Good advice is timeless. The community will rank its favorite content and comment on the topics the community wants to discuss. The more content to encourage this discussion, the better.
Can I blog directly on New Home Know-how?
Yes. We can accomodate blogs here and assign you a unique address (yourname.newhomeknowhow.com). Blogs will have the same community features to allow readers to register, comment, and vote. All blogs' comments will also be searchable from anywhere on the site. If you're already blogging on your own site, your profile page can be linked to your current blog. If you need a blog, or just want to discuss how a blog works and what's involved, please contact us here to discuss it, or call 410-864-8911. We'll be happy to help.
What's in it for Contributors?
Not only will you be furthering the education and quality of the industry's front line representatives, you'll receive exposure for your name, brand, teachings, and links back to your website - free.
What's in it for New Home Know-how?
New Home Know-how was conceived as an idea to provide instant education and ideas to the New Home Salesperson - when they need it and where they need it. New Home Know-how has expenses to cover, and offsets those expenses with unobtrusive onsite advertising. That advertising will consist largely of Google Adwords in the beginning, but in the future we expect to offer traditional banner advertising to those seeking the eyes of the New Home Sales & Marketing professional - Trainers, book sellers, ad agencies, services, etc. If you're interested in advertising on New Home Know-how, please contact us.
Do I still own my content?
Yes. When submitting "featured" content, you're granting New Home Know-how a non-exclusive irrevocable license to publish your work only on NewHomeKnowhow.com and in its RSS feed to allow users to access content more easily. New Home Know-how will not republish, distribute, or sell any of your content without your expressed written permission. At times, content may be quoted or excerpted (always cited) to promote visits to NewHomeKnowhow.com, but never for direct profit. "Featured" content is defined as an article or composition formatted and submitted to be displayed in the "main" section of NewHomeKnowhow.com. Comments and discussion board posts fall under the terms of our standard User Agreement.
